Ani DiFranco returns me to myself every time I see her perform.
She performed this song tonight in Williamsburg (though this recording is from a performance 14 years old). Motherhood seems to have centered her. She isn’t as angry as she used to be. This is good for her, but I miss some of the manic energy I’ve seen in her before.
